Let go!

Sunday, February 21, 2010
Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God!" This means, 'Let go', 'stop striving'. When we push & struggle for something to happen we are not 'resting' in God doing it. Include God in the working out of your goals. Listen to Him. 'KNOW' what He is doing and align yourself with His direction, pace and timing. It may take longer and be a different way than you would do it, but trust Him. You can't build a spiritual Kingdom with the strength of your flesh. This is why people 'burn out' get stressed & struggle. RELAX - AND LET GO AND LET GOD. See you in church!

Guilt free

Friday, February 12, 2010
John 3:18 - "He who believe in Him is not condemned" The key to a guilt-free life is faith. Not what you do or don't. People try to get rid of guilt a thousand different ways, but faith in Christ is the only sure way. Jesus has died in our place, His blood has cleansed us from all sin, He has justified us and declared us righteous, 'as He is righteous'. However, if we don't believe this is will not change our life at all. Faith always comes from hearing the Word of God, not whether you 'feel' forgiven. Speak God's Word to yourself until it is a reality. Eventually your 'feelings' will align with your faith. It generally doesn't happen immediately. Keep speaking the Word, no matter how long it takes. Faith will come and the feelings of guilt disappear!! Say it now - 'There is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.' See you in church!

God's exceeding Abundance

Saturday, February 06, 2010
Ephesians 3:20 - "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" God will provide for us, but abundance is promised to those who dream and believe. Ask OR think. (Not 'and') - Our thoughts are as loud as our prayers in heaven. Both have a deep impact on our lives. God displays abundance in creation in the myriads of different species and kinds of animals, insects, trees, plants, minerals, waters, sky, oceans, stars, universe... This same God can exceed our highest imaginations and prayers. This word (think) means to 'conceive and perceive'. God sees what we see and conceive in our mind and works to 'exceed' it. Abraham was asking for one child. God did exceedingly abundantly above and made him the father of thousands, even nations. At His table our cup overflows. See you in church!

James 4:7 - "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Never underestimate the power of the human will. If we don't surrender to God, He will not force his rule over us and if we do not personally 'resist' (decline, not consent, disagree with) the devil, he will not flee'. Our power over the devil is equal to our submission to God. Satan has no power over a person surrendered to Christ. (This means 'doing' what God has told us to do.) Fighting the devil without first surrendering to God won't work. As you start 2010, start by committing yourself and all you plan into the hands of God. This puts you on the altar, the place of power and authority over all the works of the enemy. Surrender to the good. Resist the bad - you'll win! See you in church!

Finishing strong

Thursday, January 28, 2010
Luke 14:28-30 - "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it - lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him. Jesus tells us it is very important that what we start, we finish. You do not want the reputation of someone who starts things by doesn't finish them. Don't start something that you can't complete. The moment of inspiration is not the time to start building. SIT DOWN first, get educated about the project, ascertain your resources, estimate all the costs, then multiply by at least 2 (generally a worthwhile project will take up to 10 times the money, time, energy and resources than you thought it would!) Better to sit down first rather than half way through or at the unfinished end point. Do you have the commitment to keep going, make the sacrifices, leave possessions, to follow Christ all the days of your life? Let's pay the price and finish the race strong. See you in church!

Proverbs 25:16 - Have you found honey? Eat only as much as you need, Lest you be filled with it and vomit. Just because a little is good, it does not mean a lot would be better! Whenever we find a sweet thing, something that gives us pleasure we need to control our appetite, otherwise it will destroy our lives. Good things become bad things when we abuse the use of them. All our appetites need restraints. Legalistic Christianity simply says 'No honey at all', so people never learn moderation. Try to eat what you need, buy what you need, do what you need, rather than just always what you want and life gets simpler. See you in church!

Getting up again

Sunday, January 03, 2010
Proverbs 24:16 - For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. Hang on a minute! If a person is righteous, they don't fall, right? How can you say a person is righteous, yet has fallen seven times? Because even though the person has failed, they get up again!! The righteous are righteous because they recover! They know how to say 'sorry', how to forgive & receive forgiveness. They know how to believe again and take new steps of faith. They 'rise again' even after seven (many) times. The wicked are wicked because they sulk, blame others & refuse to humble themselves & make their wrongs right. Whatever hasn't gone well for you in '09, let's get up again and rise in 2010. I know you can do it! See you in Church!

How to walk with God

Tuesday, December 29, 2009
2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. Inspirations - 'God breathed'. The Word of God is the writings of the Holy Spirit. When we agree with the Word we are in alignment with the Holy Spirit. The New Testament is a contract written by the Holy Spirit. It could be called the new 'agreement'. Every time you speak the Word, believe & receive it, you enter into covenant with God. The Power of God is realized within us when we stop disagreeing with the truth and start agreeing with the Word even when it doesn't look like it's working. Walk with God - agree with Him. See you in church!

The Cain button

Saturday, December 26, 2009
Genesis 4:6-7 - "So the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And it's desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Cain was angry because his younger brother was getting blessed and he wasn't. All of us have a Cain button. When it's pushed we get angry. Cain sulked. His bottom lip dropped. His face was dark with resentment. God counsels Cain to deal with it. "Do what the brother is doing that causes blessing' - bring the tithe, the offering that God called for. Gift giving is about giving someone what they want or wold like, rather than forcing what we want to give them, on them. Cain's unresolved unforgiving sullen attitude was an open door for the devil (murderer) to take over his life. We always have the choice as to who will rule in our life, us or sin. Start the year with a great attitude. Clean out the old. Switch on the new. See you in church!

Wise men

Monday, December 21, 2009
Matthew 2:2 - ...saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." These 'wise men', travelled from a far and distant place to find God with the purpose of giving rather than getting. They came to give, not to get even though it was God. They saw worship and giving as synonymous. It's impossible to worship without giving something of value to God. Our worship is empty lip service if it costs us nothing! Amazing that strangers and foreigners had a better recognition of Christ at all levels, than of the locals. The local King (Herod) sought Christ to kill Him. The wise men sought Him to worship Him. Make sure whatever star you decide to follow connects you closer to Christ! Merry Christmas! See you in Church!
