How to change your life

Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Hebews 6:1 '...let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works...' The ability to progress depends on if we can let go of the past. Many people are stuck in yesterday because they can't admit they were wrong or that 'what was', is no longer relevant. The foundation for success in life is being able to change, to learn. if we think we are in no need of changing we won't change. Don't you wish you felt as bad about sin before you did it as you do afterwards!! Repentance is taking sides with God against ourselves. Repentance is feeling sorrowful about what we have done wrong, confessing that to God & any person we need to, turning from it with a resolve to not do it again!! Repentance is changing our mind and attitude so we are teachable & take correction rather than thinking we know it all! Help us Lord to walk humbly with you.  See you in church!

Spirit powered obedience

Monday, March 23, 2009
Ezekiel 37:7 (NLT) ' So I spoke these words, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley.' The Spirit anoints obedience. Ezekiel spoke 'as he was commanded'. We've been told to 'preach the gospel to every creature'. As the prophet spoke, the Spirit moved. When we do our gift, the power of God will empower us. When we do what is not our gift or calling, we are in our own strength = failure, burnout etc. Say what He tells you to say. Don't add or subtract. When we 'preach the gospel' His Word, His Spirit will accompany us with the supernatural manifestation of what we preach! When God's Word is spoken & the Holy Spirit starts to move people are rattled! Don't get nervous. It's a revival of dead bones. When the bones in the valley start rattling get ready for revival. There are moments when God moves 'suddenly'. Get ready - Now is one of those times, We speak & it happens, suddenly. There's always a noise when God starts moving. Shouting, music, signing, clapping, preaching. With every NEW move of God comes a NEW sound - voice, song, music. The culture of a move of God is carried in the sound. - Don't reject the unfamiliar just because it's 'new'- New Wine = New wineskins. See you in Church!

Attitude management

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Gen 4:6-7: So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

Cain wanted to serve God, bring offerings but his way. God rejected this, and blessed Abel, Cain’s brother instead.

Cain sulked. He threw a tantrum when he couldn’t get his way. He lost his good attitude to envy and rejection. We must be able to take correction and make changes. People get sour when others get what they want. We need to be happy for others when they are blessed.

Sin sits at the door in to our life. If we overcome our bad attitude, stop complaining and being angry, then sin has no power. We need to invite the Holy Spirit through the door.

Unconditional acceptance??? – I don’t think so! God accepts our offerings when they are in line with His commandments. To ‘do well’, was to bring the offering God commanded. Cain failed to swallow his pride, make corrections, be teachable and DO THE RIGHT THING. Thus, he became a murderer. He assassinates his brother who is active in the field.

Let’s not walk in the way of Cain, but in the way of Abel obedient and blessed!

See you in church!

Overwhelmed by God

Thursday, March 19, 2009
Ezekiel 37:1 (NLT) 'The LORD took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the LORD to a valley filled with bones.' When we surrender our lives to God (not just going forward on an alter call) but doing what He has called us to do, then He takes a hold of us!!! the reason we host PRESENCE is to bring the power of God into church life- by bringing His people into contact with Him. When was the last time you were carried away by the Spirit of God!! Yielded, abandoned, weeping, laughing, free un-selfconcious worship? It's the 'carried away' moments that set our course for our whole life. OUr word is filled with people in depression & living 'dry bone' lives - We must be filled with the power of God to bring supernatural answers to transform them into an army of believers building His kingdom. God's purpose is to touch us, so we touch others - in valleys, dry bones. He doesn't always send us to the most convenient & pleasant places. But we will always love His will when we are sent by Him! See you in church!!

Offence

Wednesday, March 18, 2009
Psalm 119:165 (AMP) Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble. This is not just knowing the Word, or quoting the Word or studying the Word, but LOVING Gods Book, His ways, His laws. All the world is searching for this - Calm mind, serene emotions, unhurried lives, peaceful homes, harmonious relationships. Living in the Word is living in peace, wholeness. Wholeness comes from His Word (Great Peace). The root cause of so many peoples difficulties in life is unresolved offences. But those who love the Word don't have to heal offences because they didn't take offence in the first place. Love doesn't take into account a wrong suffered!!! Every day there's things we can stumble over but if we love the Word - live in the Word - it is like water off a ducks back. Cain took offence & murdered his brother. The elder son of Luke 15 wouldn't join in the party of his younger brother's return. All of us will be offended at some stage in life - family, church, friends. Our only hope of peace is to forgive everyone, everything they've ever done to us. -(that's loving His Word). See you in church!

God wants to make you right not wrong

Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Isaiah 43:26
Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case that you may be acquitted.
God's purpose is to make us right (righteous) not wrong. He sent His own Son for this purpose. Paul argues that after being crucified to save us He's not going to condem us!!
Instead of remembering our sins we need to remember God - the justifier. He is not the condemner. That's the devil.
God calls us to stand our ground against the accuser and to make our conscience conform to the covenant we have with God (Eph 1v7; In Him we have forgiveness).  Our feelings are to conform to the Word. Our beliefs are not to conform to our feelings. God says we HAVE forgiveness and that we ARE  justified. So we accept this.
